Fly with Inghams - Comfort and Convenience all the Way

Checking in

Check-in desks open approximately 2-3 hours prior to departure and we recommend you check-in at least 2 hours before, and not later than 90 minutes before departure. Each passenger must check-in their own luggage as this is an important security check. You will need to produce your e-tickets and passports (e-tickets are checked against passports) and have your baggage weighed. Most airports no longer call out flight boarding details so you must watch the indicator board and individual TV monitors. Inghams cannot accept any responsibility for passengers who miss flights if they fail to check-in at the specified time shown on flight tickets.

Online Check in

Online check in is now available on some of our scheduled flights to Europe and North America. We will provide you with an airline locator with your E-tickets approximately 2 weeks before you travel. You will then be able to access your booking via your airline's website 24 hours before departure and pre-book your seats or check in online.

We regret that due to Inghams taking a charter commitment on British Airways scheduled flights to Innsbruck, Salzburg and Turin, we are unable to offer the online check in service. Online check in is also not available with any of our charter airlines or low cost carriers.

Where seats have been pre-booked on our charter services, exact seat numbers will be provided to you at check in.

Luggage and Excess Baggage

Due to weight and volume restrictions, our airline partners impose the following baggage allowances per person.

Charter flights - your allowance will be shown on your e-ticket (normally 15-20 kgs per person, excluding infants).

Scheduled flights (Europe and USA/Canada) - 1 piece per person weighing up to 20kg, or 23 kgs on British Airways. Club Europe.

World Traveller Plus and ClubWorld have an allowance of 2 pieces per person.

All airlines will charge for excess baggage, either per kilo or by extra piece. Please check the airlines' website for the most up-to-date information regarding baggage allowances. All baggage allowances are set and enforced by the airlines, not Inghams.

Hand Luggage

Passengers (excluding infants) are allowed to carry ONE piece of cabin baggage on board free of charge. Handbag, briefcase, laptops, etc must be carried within your permitted 1 piece of cabin baggage. It should weigh no more than 5 kg and not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. As a guide, your carry-on bag must be able to fit either underneath the seat or in the overhead compartment.

Due to ongoing security restrictions, only liquids in containers of 100mls or less will be permitted through the passenger security screening points. Liquid items must be carried in a transparent re-sealable bag (about the size of a small freezer bag).

Pre-book your Seating Arrangements

To ensure your party sits together, you can pre-book seats on the following airlines: Austrian, Thomson Airways, Thomas Cook, Lauda, Monarch, Tyrolean. Simply reserve your seats at the time of booking up to 12 days before departure for a small charge of £9 per person return to Europe and £18 per person return to Canada. Please note that seats may be separated by an aisle due to aircraft configurations. Exact seat numbers are given at check in. Should we cancel or change your airline to one that is not part of this scheme, we will issue a full refund.

Essential Medicines

Essential medicines and medical equipment, eg hypodermic needles required for your holiday may be permitted onboard in larger quantities above the 100ml limit. Passengers must have a note from their GP supporting this.

In-flight Catering

Meals are served on all trans-Atlantic services. On most short-haul services within Europe a "Buy on Board" service is now offered.

Baby Food

Liquid baby food or sterilised water, sufficient for the journey, can be taken through airport security. The accompanying adult may be required to verify by tasting.

Prior to departure from the U.K, upgrades to Premium can only be booked on a return flight basis. Sometimes, Premium Class upgrades may be available for just the return flight from Calgary to Gatwick & Manchester but these cannot be booked in advance. See your resort Representative to check availability and prices.

Air Passenger Duty (APD) in Premier Class will increase to £120 per person from November 2010 and this (plus other taxes) is included in our price of £399. This still compares favourably with the rates charges for Premium Economy on scheduled airlines.

Connecting Flights For USA and Canada

We offer connecting flights from 13 regional airports across the UK to your trans-Atlantic flight from Heathrow or Amsterdam. Your luggage is conveniently checked through to your final destination. We offer flights from Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen with British Airways at £75 per person.

Please note that there are a limited number of seats on these connections so it is essential that you book early. All connecting flights must be added at time of booking via our Call Centre, the internet or View data when you will be given the exact flight times.

Booking scheduled flights from regional airports may not be possible until 10 months prior to departure, when airlines release their availability.

Car hire USA and Canada

Hiring a car is a great way to explore your holiday destination at your own pace. We offer pre-bookable car hire at competitive rates in USA and Canada. Simply book this when you confirm your holiday, then collect and drop off your car at the overseas airport.

USA

For all US holidays of up to 14 days, car hire with Alamo Rent A Car can be included in your holiday price instead of coach/minibus transfers. You must confirm the car hire option at time of booking or transfers will be booked instead. Car hire is compulsory for some properties or in conjunction with certain flights; see resort pages for
details. Please note that some additional charges must be paid locally as shown to the right and cars must be collected from and returned to your overseas arrival airport.

Canada

We offer car hire as an optional extra for all resorts in Canada. We particularly recommend hiring a car in Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper to help you make the most of your time away. An entrance fee of approximately CAN$90 per vehicle per holiday is payable on entry to Banff and Jasper National Parks.

Car Types and Upgrades

In both USA and Canada you are allocated a car suitable for your party size. The car category in the tables to the right shows a similar UK car to the one you will receive, but these are not the actual car types available.

You can upgrade to a different vehicle, but we recommend you do this at the time of booking as upgrading locally may be much more expensive and the vehicle you want may not be available. Please note that changes to car hire bookings cannot be made within 14 days of departure.

Additional Charges

For included car hire in USA and car hire in Canada, some additional charges must be paid locally. Please refer to Alamo terms and conditions for full details. Approximate costs based onWinter 09/10 are as follows:

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

US$20 a day. Covers damage to the vehicle if involved in an accident. We strongly recommended this as without it you are liable for the full value of the car and will be subject to a credit worthiness test and a deposit of up to $1500.

Liability Insurance Supplement (LIS)

US$15 a day. Increases your third party liability cover to $1 million. This is strongly recommended as although you are automatically covered up to the minimum required by state law, this may be inadequate in the case of a serious accident. LIS is not required for Canadian car hire as coverage of CAN $1 million is included in the rental. Other insurances can be purchased from the rental company at your discretion.

Ski Racks

$7.50 a day. This should be requested at time of booking. NB Ski racks do not fit economy cars.

Fuel

Not included, except with Alamo Gold. You must pay for a tank of petrol on collection, but can return the vehicle empty.

Additional Driver

10 a day. Drivers under 25yrs pay $20 a day.Minimum age 21 years.

Baby Seats

$7 per day. Please request at time of booking.

Airport Operating Fees, Handling Fees and Local Taxes

These vary, but will be between 10% - 23% of the total cost.

Deposit

Only credit card payments are accepted.

Ski and Snowboard Carriage

There is a charge of £35 per set of skis/snowboard for return carriage. Ski/snowboard carriage can be booked at the departure airport through our Representative, subject to space availability, at a cost of £40 (£65 on Calgary charters).

If for any reason it is not possible to carry your pre-booked ski equipment on your flight, we will arrange for you to receive free hire of standard skis or boards until your own equipment is delivered to your resort.

Please note that each ski bag should only contain one pair of skis/snowboard. Airlines may refuse to accept ski bags containing clothing and ski boots, etc. We do not accept liability for non-delivery or damage to other items you pack in your bag.

The number of skis we can carry on some of our charter flights is strictly limited. If you have your own equipment, you should pre-book carriage of these items when you confirm your booking to ensure that space is reserved.

All scheduled and no-frills carriers now make a charge for carriage of skis. This varies from £56 up to £80 return depending on your carrier. Please enquire about this at the time of booking or check the airlines' website for more information. Carriage of ski equipment is at present free on Swiss Int'l Airlines.

Airport Transfers - Europe

Our package holiday prices include return transfers between your overseas airport and resort. Your transfer will normally be by coach, Swiss rail or included car hire depending on your resort and flight. We also offer private transfers to many of our European resorts.

Express Coach Transfers

We are committed to reducing waiting times to a minimum so in most cases you are on the coach leaving the airport within 30 minutes of your flight clearing customs. En-route drop-off points are few and each coach stops at no more than two resorts. Please note:
1. It may be necessary to change from the main coach to a feeder minibus or taxi in order to get you to your resort as quickly as possible.
2. Adverse weather, unusually heavy traffic or flight diversions may make fulfilling our transfer promise beyond our reasonable control.
On peak holiday dates we might arrange your homebound transfer earlier than normal to account for extra traffic.
3.In some cases transfers will be by, or involve travel by, minibus, taxi or train, instead of coach.
4. Our transfer coaches are modern, comfortable and some have onboard toilets, drinks machines and videos.
5. Transfer journey times (exclusive of time spent at the airport) and distances in kilometres from overseas airports to resorts are shown on resort pages. Distances are approximate and times may vary due to traffic conditions, especially during UK and European holiday periods. We aim to keep delays as short as possible which might
sometimes involve earlier departure from resort followed by an en-route stop.
6. On some longer transfers (e.g. over three hours) we have a short refreshment stop mid-way through the journey.

Swiss Rail Transfers

Transfers are by coach with all charter flights to Switzerland. If you travel on a scheduled flight to Switzerland, except to Berne, your transfer to resort is via the fantastic Swiss rail system.

A supplement is payable for rail transfers of £36 per person 2nd class return, or £74 1st class return. This applies to scheduled flights, except to Berne, and on selected flights to Geneva. Children under 16 years receive the Family Card. Please note the following exceptions:

• St Moritz, Davos and Klosters: transfers are only by Swiss Rail if you fly to Zurich. If you take our London Heathrow 06.00 flight, 2nd class rail transfer is included or 1st class is available at a supplement of £46.
• Davos and Klosters (via Innsbruck airport): transfers are by coach.
• Crans-Montana, Saas Fee and Verbier do not have a train station, so the last part of the journey is by postal coach. Your rail ticket is valid for the postal coach. There is one class of seating only on postal coaches.
• We regret that no amendments or additions can be accepted within 14 days of departure.

Swiss Fly Rail Luggage

The Swiss Fly-rail Luggage system allows you to check in your luggage at your UK airport all the way to your accommodation and back without having to carry or handle it. This service costs just £24 per piece of luggage return - please indicate at time of booking how many pieces of luggage you will take. Please note this is not available for Crans Montana, Verbier or Villars.

• This service is only available on BA (Zurich only) or Swiss scheduled flights.
• Luggage may not arrive in your resort until the next day, so we recommend you take an overnight bag with essential items for your first night/morning. For your return journey, luggage may need to be sent ahead the evening before departure, so the same advice applies.
• If this service is not booked at the time you confirm your holiday, an additional fee will apply.
• You cannot book the Swiss 'Fly-rail Luggage' system if travelling on a ski short break (3, 4 or 5 night stays).
• We regret that no amendments or additions can be accepted within 14 days of departure.

Private Transfers

We offer private taxi transfers to groups of two to six people booking a full package with accommodation. Groups of more than six should contact us for a special quotation. You can book a private transfer up to 14 days before departure, but we recommend you confirm this at time of booking to ensure it is reserved for you. Infants must be added as an additional passenger as special arrangements apply. Please note that some scheduled flights from Heathrow to Geneva have compulsory private transfers; these are shown on the travel sections on resort introduction pages.

Airport Transfers - North America

Onward Transfers

For those passengers using our onward transfers by coach/minibus, our transfer vehicles are modern and comfortable and some coaches have on board toilets, drinks machines, and videos to enhance the enjoyment of your journey to your resort. Please note that distances found under the Travel Details on each resort are approximate and that transfer times may vary according to local conditions. Please also note that inclement weather may necessitate an earlier departure from resort. In these instances, we guarantee to do our utmost to keep you informed and to keep waiting time to a minimum.

Stretch Limousine Transfers

For those wanting a touch of luxury, exclusive limousine transfers are now available for transfers to Whistler. We offer this special arrangement, subject to the appropriate supplement, to parties of two to six people. Groups of more than six should contact us for a special quotation. Note: Limousine transfers are only available if you are booking a full package including accommodation. You should indicate your requirements at the time of booking to ensure this facility is reserved for you at the confirmation stage. We regret we are unable to accept requests for private transfers within 14 days of departure. Please contact us for a quote.

Included Car Hire

Self Drive to Europe

Save up to £200 per person

If you wish to drive to your ski resort from the UK, we offer our holidays without flights and transfers for a reduced price - see the table below for reductions. All we ask is you arrive and depart your accommodation the same date as our flight arrivals. Select your accommodation and either a P&O Ferries or Eurotunnel Channel crossing, then call our reservations team for a quote.

P&O Ferries

We offer the following two routes:

Dover to Calais: 6 Superferries operate an almost hourly service. The Club Lounge and priority boarding, with complimentary tea or coffee and newspapers, are available on every sailing for a £13 per person supplement. Club Lounge and priority boarding must be booked together.

Hull to Zeebrugge or Rotterdam: 1 daily overnight sailing, ideal for travelling to eastern Switzerland or Austria. Cabins are compulsory. Meals are not included, but can be pre-booked.

Eurotunnel

Eurotunnel runs up to three crossings an hour during peak periods, 24 hours a day, between Folkestone and Calais. This service takes just 35 minutes and carries cars and their passengers. Please advise us of the height of your vehicle at the time of booking. There are special carriages for vehicles over 1.85m.

Important notes for self-drive holidays

• You may travel on different outward and return routes, but both crossings must be with the same company. All cars on one booking must travel on the same crossings.

• Whilst every effort is made to arrange the precise dates and times you request, at busy times and in peak periods crossings on popular routes quickly become fully booked. As all car ferry bookings are subject to availability, we will book the nearest possible alternative and confirm the details on your invoice.We therefore advise you to book early for popular dates and crossings.

• Ferries do not normally operate on 25 or 31 December and some sailings do not operate on 24 or 27 December. A limited service operates to/from Calais on 26 Dec & 2 Jan 2011.

• We cannot accept cats or dogs on our winter programme.

• If you intend to have a roof box, roof rack, trailer or bike rack you must advise our reservations team at time of booking as a supplement may apply. If you do not advise us, the sailing you originally requested may no longer be available.

• We regret that we cannot accept vehicles seating more than 9 people or classified as commercial by their manufacturers Some types of larger vehicles (7 to 9 seats) can only be accommodated on Eurotunnel.

• Our car holiday prices include return P&O ferry crossings by short sea route for a car and 5 passengers.

• An administration fee is payable if you change your crossing after you have made the booking (see Terms and Conditions).

• Some routes carry a supplement (see tables above). Please consult the P&O Ferries or Eurotunnel websites or brochures (available at your travel agent) for the most up-to-date timetable.

Snow Trains to France or Switzerland

If you wish to avoid long transfers or are concerned about the carbon footprint, taking the train is the ideal way to travel. For details of what’s included in the price of a train holiday.

Timetable: Please see timetables below, These are subject to change but we will send you a final itinerary approximately two weeks before your departure.

Luggage: You can carry one suitcase, one ski bag and one boot bag per person. Skis are usually carried free of charge. Some services may charge for exceeding luggage allowance. Space is limited on all services for stowing bulky items and skis. On arrival in resort you might need to store your luggage in temporary facilities until rooms are ready.

Daytime Eurostar to France

Travel agent’s code: 196 first class / 197 standard class

This service runs direct from the UK to the Alps, passing through the beautiful French countryside. In standard class there are two buffets and a snack trolley where you can purchase food. In Standard premier, meals and drinks are included and served at your seat. Seats are larger, recline and have more leg room.

Daytime Eurostar to Italy

Travel agent’s code: 194 first class / 192 standard class

Travel by Eurostar London to Paris and TGV to Oulx. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Please note that this service is unaccompanied and requires a change of station in Paris.
